About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover design  Serial paraffin sections of an epineurial blood vessel showing microvasculitis in the sural nerve of a patient with non-diabetic lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy. The top left section is stained with haematoxylin and eosin, the top right section is reacted to anti-human smooth muscle actin and the bottom section is reacted for leucocytes (CD45). The smooth muscle fibres of the tunica media (top right) are separated by mononuclear cells. Muscle fibres are fragmented and decreased in amount. The changes are those of focal microvasculitis. From `Non-diabetic' lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy: natural history, outcome and comparison with the diabetic variety' by P. J. B. Dyck et al., 11971207.
